Aversive-based training uses techniques like loud, unpleasant noises, physical corrections, and harsh scoldings to get your dog to act the way you want. On the other hand, reward-based training uses rewards whenever your dog does something you want it to do.
Our variety of 6-week courses cover a range of options from Basic Good Manners to Agility to the Prep Course for certifying your dog as a Canine Good Citizen. We teach you how to teach your dog in a way that they understand. Our Advanced course is for instructors with at least one year’s experience of teaching classes. How it works After you sign up for a Handler’s Choice Training Session, you will be asked to submit up to 2 skills that you would like to work on with your dog. Skills can be related to manners, tricks, Canine Good Citizen or therapy dog preparation. This is a great opportunity for dogs who are not quite ready for the structure and demands of a typical class format.
Deliveries can be same day or scheduled up to 6 days in advance. If you choose to drop off two dogs from the same household, we may need to provide a second trainer for an additional fee of $45 + tax per hour. Please contact us before scheduling to discuss options. In the majority of cases, a dog that misbehaves when it’s left on its own can be taught to act correctly with the right kind of obedience training. It’s important that your dog gets experience socializing with other people and other animals.

About Dog Training
We charge a one-time fee on your initial lesson which also covers you and your dog for follow-up visits until you achieve your goals with your dog. We are there for you and will return if new problems arise or old ones resurface. Dogs learn best in a familiar, safe environment free of outside distractions and disruptions.

Our Confidence Booster class is perfect for shy dogs, or dogs whose lack of confidence causes them to react poorly to other dogs. In this course, your dog will be introduced to a number of obstacles and games that will help it realize that the world is not such a bad place after all. The obstacles and games change from class to class, so your dog learns to adjust. You will get homework after each class, so you can practice navigating the world in new and interesting ways at home.
It can also help you togain an understandingof your dog’s needs. On the flip side, if your dog is over-excitable and jumps up at visitors, you should train them to greet people properly without being so boisterous. It’s important that these kinds of things are addressed early on, as they could cause the dog or other people to be harmed. You can receive a full refund up to the start of the second class, after that we will make sure that you reach your training goals - even if it means retaking the class for free. The group class you enroll in will occur at the same time every week for 6 consecutive weeks .
